Metal detectors use electromagnetic induction principle, using a coil with alternating current through, to produce a rapidly changing magnetic field. The magnetic field can be induced eddy currents in the metal object. Eddy currents will produce magnetic field, the magnetic field upside down affect the original magnetic field, triggering an audible warning signal in detector.
